Support
Our ability to support doctors is underpinned by the breadth of our policy cover, which we believe is one of the broadest available in Australia, and the range of member services we offer.
Our member services are designed to:
- Assist members in the event of a claim or investigation
- Educate members in the area of risk management, and
- Inform members about medical indemnity issues relevant to them.
Education
MIGA invests heavily in providing members with access to an industry leading Risk Management Program and we offer a premium discount on renewal to members who complete the required activities.
We see risk management as a key factor in the control of medical indemnity incidents and claims in the future.
Emergency assistance
We also recognise that members need us most when they receive a complaint, letter of demand, notice of court proceedings or notice of a coronial inquest. In these situations our members have access to 24 hour emergency medico-legal advice from a staff member. Throughout the matter we will provide support and keep you informed of developments. We also provide access to our Doctors' Support Service which provides peer and/or professional clinical support to members who would like to talk with an understanding colleague, or require clinical support to assist them cope with their continued medical practice.
