The Medical Insurance Group Australia (MIGA) comprises the Medical Defence Association of South Australia Limited (MDASA Limited) and Medical Insurance Australia Pty Ltd (Medical Insurance Australia). Both MDASA and Medical Insurance Australia are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cwth) and the National Privacy Principles.

This statement discloses MIGA's privacy practices relating to the purpose and use of information collected via this website.

MIGA’s web site collects the following information from users:

A record of your visit and logs the following information for statistical purposes - the user's IP address, the date and time of the visit to the site, the pages accessed and documents downloaded, the previous site visited and the type of browser used. No attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities except, in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect our service provider's logs. This information is analysed at the end of each month to determine the site's usage statistics.

MIGA retains the e-mail address of people who send e-mails through the "Contact Us" facility, for the primary purpose of sending a response. They are stored in a secure area within MDASA Limited’s computer network and will not be used for any other purpose.

MDASA and Medical Insurance Australia may share the above information with each other and with their related bodies corporate but no personal details collected on this site are provided to any other individual or organization unless required by law.

In most circumstances you can access the personal information which is collected via this website. Sometimes there may be a reason why that access is not possible, in which case you will be told why. To make an access request, contact client services by email at clientservices@miga.com.au.
