International doctors

If you are an international medical graduate thinking about working as a doctor in Australia, MIGA can help you.

We have produced an information booklet for International Medical Graduates titled "Planning to work as a doctor in Australia? - All you need to know about medical indemnity insurance".

The booklet outlines:

  • the types of insurance required by doctors working in either private practice or the Australian public hospital system
  • the Federal Government Schemes that are in place to support doctors
  • other resources that can provide you with additional information about working in Australia, and
  • MIGA's services, beyond insurance cover, that support doctors in their practise of medicine.

We understand it can be confusing learning about what is required to be be able to work in another country and appreciate that everyone's situation is different.
