As part of the Federal Government’s commitment to maternity services reform, legislation was passed in Parliament on 16 March 2010 to establish a Government-supported professional indemnity scheme for eligible midwives. It also gives eligible midwives in private practice access to the Medicare Benefits Schedule.
MIGA is pleased and proud to have been selected to be the sole provider of insurance in Australia for the Midwives Insurance Scheme.
