Risk Resources gives our members easy access to a wide range of risk management materials, information and tools which are aimed at assisting them in their day to day medical practice.

Risk Resources is an innovative and very practical way for us to provide our members with access to the extensive resources and knowledge we have developed and acquired over the years based on our significant claims and risk management experience.

It is available exclusively to members who are insured with MIGA and is only accessible via the Members’ Area of our website.

Articles

Grouped by broad topics, we provide a wide range of articles on claims and risk management issues and trends.

Case Studies

Our Case Studies address topical and emerging medico-legal and risk management issues, some across specialties and others at a specialty specific level.

Each Case Study includes a summary of the key medical and legal facts, observations and findings, as well as reference to MIGA and other risk management resources and articles.

Claims Summaries

Claims Summaries are provided for a range of specialties and provide an overview of our claims experience and key risk management issues for each.

Each Claims Summary contains information about:

• Claims statistics e.g. claims frequency, key causes of claims and types of procedures that are the subject of a claim
• Risk management issues that contribute to claims
• Case examples on areas of vulnerability for the specialty
• Risk management tips that may assist in avoiding claims and complaints, and improved patient outcomes
• A list of Risk Resources that are relevant to the risk management issues identified in each Claims Summary.

Fact Sheets and Check Lists

Up to 35 Fact Sheets and Checklists are available on a wide range of practice management and risk management issues.  They are a practical and useful tool for members and can be downloaded and printed for use in your practice.
